On September 15, in the workshop of Hubei Kewei Electromechanical Equipment Co., Ltd. located in Zhangwan District, Shiyan City, workers were busy debugging production line conveying equipment for energy storage cubes, destined for BYD’s Nanning plant. This marked the fifth set of large-scale complete equipment customized by the company for BYD.
“We secured our first order for conveying equipment in February last year, and BYD was highly satisfied with the delivery,” said Wang Zhengfeng, General Manager of Kewei Electromechanical. As a result, BYD officially listed Kewei Electromechanical as an approved bidding partner, and the company has since won five supporting equipment projects from BYD in one go.
Wang Zhengfeng still keeps videos of the energy storage cube equipment installation for BYD on his phone. “As you can see, apart from the batteries, all other equipment here is manufactured by Kewei Electromechanical,” he explained. When new energy battery packs are transported and positioned, the clearance left on all sides is only 3–5 millimeters, yet Kewei’s automated conveying equipment achieves seamless and highly precise assembly.
Founded in 2010, Hubei Kewei Electromechanical Equipment Co., Ltd. is based in Xicheng Industrial Park, Zhangwan District, Shiyan City. Since its establishment, the company has focused on providing complete solutions for automobile manufacturers, parts producers and machinery manufacturers, including industrial automated assembly lines, conveying lines, painting lines, robot application and integration, and intelligent control systems.
“Focus leads to expertise,” noted Wang Zhengfeng. He introduced the tire assembly line developed for clients such as Foton Daimler, which can automatically assemble various tires from the warehouse to the production line in just over a dozen seconds, tailored to the production process requirements of enterprises.
Commercial vehicle tires are large and heavy, each weighing over 100 kilograms, making manual or simple mechanical assembly impractical. To boost production efficiency, manufacturers increasingly demand modern automatic assembly equipment. After years of continuous R&D, Kewei Electromechanical has obtained multiple utility model patents, including:A Lifting Auxiliary Tool for Tire Rims,A Coating Mechanism for Automatic Lubricators in Tire Assembly,A Press-fitting Mechanism for Inner Tire Supports.
With just over 50 employees, Kewei Electromechanical employs more than 20 technical personnel. To date, the company has obtained over 30 patents of various types and has grown into a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D and design, manufacturing and installation, and technical services.
It has supplied automated equipment to numerous automobile and parts enterprises, including Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Nissan, Foton Daimler, BYD and JMC, with products exported to overseas markets such as Russia, Thailand and Vietnam.
“Technological leadership ensures market leadership,” said Wang Zhengfeng. The company has achieved substantial revenue growth for three consecutive years:2020: 32 million yuan,2021: 54.07 million yuan,2022: 120 million yuan
“The enterprise now ranks among the top three in the domestic industry in terms of comprehensive strength,” said an official from the Zhangwan District Bureau of Economy and Information Technology.
Kewei Electromechanical maintains steady performance growth, with staff working overtime to fulfill orders. Per capita output value is expected to exceed 2 million yuan this year.
